YouView ignites interest from hundreds of content providers

YouView, a new subscription-free internet-connected TV service for the UK, today confirmed that hundreds of organisations involved in content provision have registered their interest in engaging with YouView as the platform develops.

These represent a wide range of free and paid content including, entertainment, mainstream and independent films, music, news, factual, sport, arts and local content.

Following the launch of its industry engagement programme for content providers last year, YouView also announced today the names of the 29 organisations with which it is working closely to shape and test the processes for making content available via the platform.

Kip Meek leaves role as YouView Non-Executive Chairman

YouView Ltd, the joint venture between the BBC, ITV, BT, Channel 4, TalkTalk, Arqiva and Channel 5, today announces that Kip Meek has resigned from his role as Non-Executive Chairman. Kip joined YouView in July 2010 to lead the Board of the new venture and has overseen the incorporation of YouView and formal commitment to the project of its 7 shareholders, the achievement of regulatory approval and the appointment of Chief Executive Officer, Richard Halton.
