We want to open up the nation’s TV screens to the widest possible range of content and services. As an open internet-connected TV environment, YouView will create new opportunities for all types of content providers, including many who have so far found it difficult to build a TV audience.
Whatever your organisation’s role in content provision – as a content provider or a technical solutions provider – we want to make it as easy as possible for you to find out about YouView developments.
If you’d like to be included in our regular communications, and you haven’t already registered your interest, please register here to receive ongoing information and updates.
The great news is that hundreds of organisations have already registered their interest in being updated as the YouView platform develops. These organisations reflect a wide range of free and paid content – including entertainment, mainstream and independent films, music, news, factual, sport, arts and local content.
Also, following the Autumn 2010 launch of our industry engagement programme for those involved in content provision, we have been working with an industry advisory group comprising a core group of on demand video/audio content providers, a core group of end-to-end technology solutions providers and a wider group of organisations supporting content provision. These organisations are helping to shape and test the way in which content will be delivered via YouView – and the group’s diversity and expertise will help to ensure that YouView can support a potentially unlimited range of content in the future.
The various processes and guidelines on which the industry group is advising will be made available via this site. And, later this year, all interested content providers will be invited by YouView to confirm their formal intention to making their content available via the platform.
YouView is keen to open up similar opportunities for other organisations involved in content provision. Keep an eye on the website for news of future opportunities to engage with YouView…
